Setting it up

Create a bot for Ghillie with Telegram's BotFather and note your own Telegram user ID. Ghillie only ever talks to the allowlisted user.

Until both values are present, the Channels screen reports Setup required. Once connected, a message from you starts a durable run exactly as a chat in the app would.

Everyday use

Type what you want. Running and completed jobs keep their Status, Cancel and Retry buttons on the message, so you can manage work without switching to the Mac./approvals reopens anything waiting on you with confirm and deny buttons.

Voice notes and photos

Send a voice note and Ghillie transcribes it on your Mac with a local Whisper model; only the transcript and its hash enter memory, and no OpenAI key is involved. Photos are handed to the model as real images, not described by a file path.

Powers from chat

/power invokes one exact active Power. Ghillie maps only that Power's schema, issues a scoped lease, records the run, and pauses any write, external or destructive effect for the same approval the app would ask for. Low-level bundled tools are visible and auditable but are not exposed as a raw escape hatch.

Coding from your phone

/code drives a real Claude Code session inside an allowlisted project on the Mac that holds the route. Project names resolve under your workspace roots; paths outside them are rejected. The session can edit files and run a bounded set of build and test commands; ordinary chat stays read-only. /code help lists projects.

Topics

Named topics are durable shared state, so a thread you start on your phone is the same thread when you sit down at the Mac.

At forty turns Ghillie compacts automatically. The summary becomes bounded context for the new generation and the full transcript remains in the app.
