What a working day with Ghillie looks like: the jobs it takes off your plate, what it does unprompted, and the exact moments it checks with you.

Each scenario below uses Powers that ship with Ghillie today. The shape is always the same: reads happen on their own, anything that touches the outside world pauses for you. Once you have watched one run through, the rest feel familiar.

The morning briefing

You did not ask for this one. The daily-briefing routine runs at 07:00 and, once you have switched delivery on, is waiting in Telegram before you sit down.

You say
(nothing; it runs on schedule)

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Reads overnight mail across your Gmail and Microsoft accounts and pulls out what needs a decision.
  • Reads today's calendar and flags anything without a location, a dial-in or a prepared note.
  • Checks project boards for work that has been in Needs input or Blocked since yesterday.
  • Writes one message and records the run.

Where it stops to ask

Nothing. A briefing is a read. If you reply to it with an instruction, that becomes a normal run with normal approvals.

Clearing an inbox

You say
Go through today's inbox. Draft replies to anything from a client.
Archive the newsletters. Flag anything that mentions an invoice.

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Reads and classifies every message from the last day.
  • Drafts the client replies in your register and leaves them as drafts.
  • Builds a list of the newsletters and the invoice mentions.

Where it stops to ask

Archiving changes your mailbox, so Ghillie shows the exact list of messages it intends to archive and waits. Drafts sit unsent until you send them yourself or tell it to.

Chasing a project that stalled

You say
What's going on with the Q4 launch? Anything I owe people?

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Opens the project's board and reads the chats behind each card.
  • Finds the two cards that have sat in Needs input for a week and reads the questions attached to them.
  • Checks its memory for commitments you made in earlier conversations about the launch.
  • Summarises: what is waiting on you, what is waiting on others, and what it can move itself.

Where it stops to ask

If you say 'chase Dana for the copy', the outbound message is shown to you word for word before it goes. Ghillie never messages another person on its own.

Meeting notes in Teams

You say
@Ghillie take notes for this one

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Confirms Teams transcription is visibly running; if it is not, it says so and does nothing.
  • Captures the transcript as untrusted source material, never as instructions.
  • Drafts a structured note with decisions, actions and owners.

Where it stops to ask

Creating the note is one approval-gated write with a trusted title and destination. Nothing is written until you confirm, and the transcript itself is never stored.

Fixing a build from your phone

You say
/code Mindlake :: the release build is failing on the Air, find out why and fix it

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Starts a real Claude Code session inside the Mindlake project on whichever Mac holds the route.
  • Reads the build output, edits the code, and runs the allowed build and test commands until they pass.
  • Reports back in the same Telegram thread with Status, Cancel and Retry buttons on the message.

Where it stops to ask

Edits inside the project are permitted for an explicit /code run; anything outside the workspace, and any outbound effect, still stops for approval. Ordinary chat stays read-only.

Finding a car within a budget

You say
Find me a used estate under £18k within 50 miles, automatic, under 60k miles.

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Turns the request into an exact query against the used-car search Power with your filters applied strictly.
  • Checks the remaining API budget before doing anything.

Where it stops to ask

The search spends against a metered budget, so it is an external effect. Ghillie shows you the exact query and the cost against the budget before it runs. Results come back as a shortlist; nothing is contacted or reserved without a further yes.

Teaching it a habit

You say
From now on, anything from these three senders goes straight to archive,
and never draft in more than two paragraphs.

What Ghillie does on its own

  • Saves both as procedural memories with you as the source and today as the start of their validity.
  • Applies them to every future inbox run and briefing.

Where it stops to ask

Nothing to approve, and nothing hidden either: the memories are visible, dated, and can be corrected or superseded at any time.
